Some new Illinois State Police officers are going to be patrolling Illinois highways.
Cadet Class 118 finished their half-year of in-house training Friday...swearing their oath of office, and getting their badges from Illinois State Police Interim Director Patrick Keen.
But, before they're on their own, the 40 new officers will be spending the next 14-weeks paired one-on-one with Senior Field Training Officers who'll mentor them.
Over half the new officers will go to the Chicago area...with the other eighteen scattered in various districts around the state.
