A Champaign woman is dead after local officials say she was struck by at least one vehicle on Interstate 74 Friday night.

Authorities are now working to find the car and driver that killed her.

McLean County coroner Beth Kimmerling said that shortly before 10 p.m. Friday, authorities were called to the scene, on 1-74 east, near mile-marker 155.

There they found the victim, 39 year-old Jancy Hubbard, lying on the side of the interstate.

Police also found Hubbard's vehicle nearby, containing her shoes and purse.

Hubbard was an employee of the college of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign.

Kimmerling says autopsy results show she died of multiple injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.

Toxicology tests have been ordered.

Authorities are checking surveillance video near the area and data from cell phone towers to determine who hit Hubbard.
