A Bartonville family is left without a home after an early morning fire.

Limestone Fire Chief Carey Capps says several units responded to the call that came in at 5:13 Sunday morning.

Three occupants of the residence at 7805 West Krause awoke to their fire alarms and made it out safely.

No one was injured. The family's pet dog is unaccounted for, but Capps says they could hear him barking in the distance and assume he is safe.

The house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. It took crews three hours to extinguish the blaze.

There is no indication as to the cause, which is still under investigation.
