The Eureka-Goodfield Fire Department spent Wednesday afternoon and evening working to put out a house fire which erupted in Goodfield Wednesday afternoon.

The fire department was called around 3:15 p.m.

When they arrived smoke was pouring out from all sides of the house on 425 North County Road.

Eureka-Goodfield Fire Chief Craig Neil says they were told there was an explosion, then flames.

Neil says, "The problem we're facing, with the fire starting in the basement, with the balloon construction to the first and second floors, it's burning holes in the floors, which is making the house unstable, so its making fighting the fire more difficult."

Nobody was hurt in the fire.

The Eureka Fire Department called in the help of surrounding departments, with more than 30 firefighters working to put a stop to the fire.
