Living County Sheriff's Police and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services are investigating the death of a 4-year-old girl who was in state-licensed foster care in Cullom.
Kianna Rudesill died Thursday at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center after being life-flighted Tuesday from OSF Saint James in Pontiac.
According to our news partner, the Pantagraph, the child suffered from "severe physical abuse." DCFS is investigating allegations of abuse and neglect by the foster parents.
Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll says the girl was reportedly admitted to the Pontiac Hospital for becoming "unresponsive after seizure like activity."
Kianna Rudesill, originally from Bloomington, was placed in foster care with her siblings after the biological mother was sentenced to 18 months' conditional discharge in September for two counts of child endangerment.
The remaining children at the Cullom home have been removed.
An autopsy has been scheduled for tomorrow.
