Galesburg Man Arrested for Allegedly Threatening Neighbors

Galesburg, IL - Police arrest a man in his Day Street home Monday night after allegedly threatening neighbors with a handgun.

22 year old Michael Dillon was arrested on unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a controlled substance.

Officers were called to the Day and South Streets area at around 11:36 pm Monday night on a report of a man with a gun.

Upon arrival, officers were advised by witnesses that Dillon was seen retreating into his house with a gun in his waistband.

Officers secured the area and surrounded the house until a search warrant could be obtained. Once the warrant was issued, officers made entry into the home and found Dillon in the residence.

Dillon was taken into custody without incident and there were no shots fired and no injuries reported.
