FREEPORT, Il. -- Sensata Technologies in Freeport is planning to ship more than 100 jobs to China at the end of the year.
Thursday, Governor Quinn stood with Sensata workers urging Congress to pass the Bring Jobs Home Act.
The bill provides tax credits for companies who bring jobs back from overseas and stops credits for businesses outsourcing jobs to other countries.
The governor says there are many reasons for a business to stay stateside.
"The cost of transportation, the loss of intellectual property, the fact that the workers just don't measure up. Those are big determents to being in a foreign place" Governor Quinn.
President Obama has urged Congress to pass the Bring Jobs Home Act. However, the measure was blocked in the U.S. Senate last week.
