Two dancers are out of work tonight after behind the scenes drama at the Peoria Ballet. This as the ballet prepares for its biggest performance of the year...."Nutcracker"...in December.

Administrative Assistant Jennifer Reiter and Academy Director Rebekah von Rathahny left the company this Monday.

Von Rathahny was also scheduled to perform as the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Faculty member and long-time dancer Servy Guyardo is the production's new director.

Guyardo says he's honored to assume directing responsibilities of the long-standing holiday tradition.

The cast of ballerinas perform "nutcracker" at the Peoria Civic Center on December 10th and 11th.

The Peoria Ballet is still trying to fill the role of Sugar Plum Fairy.
