One Oregon woman is picking up the horse power to travel cross-country... on horse.

Kathleen Dodds from Sherbet, Oregon has been traveling for about four and half months, and now she's passing through the Peoria area.

News 25's Doug Smith caught a glimpse of her heading east on the McClugage bridge Thursday afternoon.

Why is she doing this?

"Three years ago I had a pretty serious health issue," said Dodds. "It kind of made me stop and reevaluate where my life was, and I decided this would be a good time to do it. I hope that it motivates people to find what their dreams are, and go do them."

Dodds says she has about seven weeks to go until she reaches New Jersey.
