October 15th is the tax day for millions of taxpayers who requested an extension to file their 2009 returns.
It's also a crucial due date for thousands of small nonprofit organizations at risk of losing their tax exempt status because they have not filed in the last 3 years.
Small organizations like charities and social clubs that don't file an information return are subject to losing their tax exempt status.
IRS officials say the easiest and fastest way to file is by free file or e-file.
