A 22 year old Henry County Jail inmate is dead, and Illinois State Police are investigating the circumstances.

Levi J Ingram of Kewanee was in the Henry County Jail awaiting trial on theft and burglary charges.

He was found unresponsive in his jail cell yesterday afternoon shortly after returning from court.

Attempts to revive him, by jail personnell and at the Hammond Henry Hospital in Geneseo were unsuccessful.

Illinois State Police say they were asked to investigate the death by the Henry County Sheriff's Office.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday in Peoria.
