CREVE COEUR, Ill. -- As the flooded Illinois River continues to recede, one local restaurant wants residents to know they are back in business.

Kuchie's on the Water in Creve Coeur has reopened after flood waters forced the restaurant to close for two weeks.

While the flood waters did not damage the building; they did block access roads and damage the restaurant's docks.

Owners say the closure was hard for employees, especially for those who work there full time.

"It's been hard, I got single moms who work here and people trying to support their families. It's hard so that's why we want to make sure people knew we were reopened so they could come down. We're not a big chain that has big backing to help. It's us just down here on the water," said Jan Little, co-owner of Kuchie's on the Water.

Kuchie's on the Water is located at 579 Wesley Road in Creve Coeur. They are open Tuesday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday noon to 8 p.m.
