It turns out there's free dental coverage if you work at the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago.

At least if you're one of the seals or sea lions.

In honor of Dental Hygiene Month, we offer this public service message.

Remember to brush three times a week if you're on a raw fish diet.

It turns out seals and sea lions cn have dental problems just like humans, so their keepers have to do some proactive brushing of the animal's teeth.

"Her breath right now is actually relatively minty. Not fishy. Obviously we've been feeding her fish ... so it is a little bit fishy," Beth Miller, Brookfield Zookeeper.

If the seals and sea lions seem to like brushing more than your kids it has to do with the the feeding and tooth brushing coming at the same time.

So far, it seems no one has taught them not to bolt down their food.
