Even though he adopted certain human traits, Mr. Spock remained an alien.

As it turns out, he was simply an alien from another country, and that country is Canada.

At least that's how the Vulcan, Alberta Chamber of Commerce tells it.

Yes, Vulcan is in the Canadian Province of Alberta.

A small Canadian town that's a Mecca for all things Star Trek.

The town built this space ship interpretive centre for Trek-obsessed visitors.

This past summer, the town welcomed Mr. Spock himself, actor Leonard Nimoy.

And, some couples are materializing here, wanting to tie the trekker knot.

"I was looking at guest book here, and we have people from Finland, Netherlands, Newfoundland and the United States," said Dwayne Hill, town councilor.

Strange new worlds indeed.

Oddly enough, having a Star Trek wedding in Vulcan doesn't seem all that odd when you consider the most Vulcan of phrases: "Live long and prosper."
