Police Have Fugitive in Custody After Escaping From Squad Car

Fulton County authorities say a fugitive Jail escapee has been arrested.

Authorities say 28 year old Kyle Williams was caught around 6:00 a.m.Tuesday in a trailer in Astoria.

Police say Williams broke free from handcuffs around two o'clock Monday afternoon.

They say he fled a squad car in Table Grove, beginning a large scale search with several law enforcement agencies.

Illinois State Police Air Operations was also called to help with the search.

Early Tuesday morning Sheriff's deputies received information on Williams' location, upon searching a home in Astoria they apprehended Williams.

Williams was previously in custody for methamphetamine production, bringing contraband in a penal institution, and resisting a police officer.

He will now be charged with escape, resisting a peace officer and obstructing a peace officer.

Cassie J. Bent, 28, of Astoria was also arrested at the residence and charged with obstructing a peace officer.
