An 18 year old Peoria man faces up to life in prison after being found guilty Thursday of first degree murder.

The Peoria Circuit Court jury found Preston Marizetts guilty of the fatal shooting of 19 year old Jasmine Brittine last March.

It happened during a confrontation between two groups of people at Harrison Homes.

Brittine was not involved in the confrontation, but was struck by a bullet Marizetts fired into a group of people.

Marizetts had said he was acting in self-defense --in fear for his life--when he fired the shot.
