And just before 2 AM a Peoria Police squad car drove onto the site of a three-vehicle accident at the corner of Glen and Sheridan that left a married couple dead.

That intersection was closed until the late morning as Peoria Police were investigating the crash.

"Right now it appears to be two motor vehicles and a motorcycle involved," according to Sgt. Robert Wagner. "We have two people that have been pronounced dead in regards to his accident. That's why we're still here trying to get as much information as possible."

The two victims, 40 year old Michael Korenchuk and 30 year old Rachel Korenchuk, were on the motorcycle according to Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll.

It appears they had been stopped at a red light behind one SUV when the driver of a 2010 Sienna truck rear-ended the motorcycle, crushing the bike.

The driver of the truck, Jeffrey Kallister, was located and arrested for two counts of reckless homicide and multiple traffic violations including Driving Under the Influence.

The driver of the small SUV Corey Baker was also arrested for DUI.

An autopsy for Michael and Rachel Korenchuk is scheduled for Monday.
