Mitsubishi Motors North America is turning a new leaf over in production.

Thursday, the Normal plant stopped producing the Endeavor S-U-V, the Spyder convertible, and the Eclipse coupe-- the first car built there in 1988.

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation invested $100 Million into the local plant to produce the Outlander Sport.

Employees won't begin making the Crossover S-U-V until the middle of next year. In the meantime, they'll replace body shop equipment.

A Mitsubishi spokesman says the Outlander is "hot property" right now, and is more fuel efficient than the current models. He says the plant will also retire the Galant sometime next year.

Mitsubishi plans to start producing its electric car, the "i", this December.
