PEORIA, Ill. -- Financial services company Morgan Stanley is consolidating its offices, bringing more jobs to downtown Peoria.

The company's wealth management office, formerly located on North Knoxville, has relocated to Morgan Stanley's office inside the Becker Building. Employees cut the ribbon Thursday as part of the celebration. Officials said it marks a new chapter for the company.

"We are the largest wire-house firm in terms of number of employees in downtown Peoria. We've always viewed the downtown area as a place where we feel that yes it's served by government but it also serves as a business district and a financial district," said Manager Paul DiGiallonardo.

The downtown office was renovated to accommodate nearly 60 additional employees. Three years ago Smith Barney financial company merged with Morgan Stanley.
