A job creator is coming to the Northwest side of Peoria.
A second Hy-Vee store is expected to go up near the Shoppes at Grand Prairie.
The Iowa-based grocery chain has petitioned the city for a special use permit fro the property off of U. S. Route 150.
Developers say the area - which features mostly retail shopping, restaurants and hotels - has no grocery store, creating a demand for people who live nearby.
A city spokeswoman says the request goes before the zoning commission on Aug. 4 and then to the full city council on Aug. 23.
If approved, the store would be the second Hy-Vee in the city...and slightly larger than the first one at Sheridan Village.
No word on when construction could begin.
