Peoria City Council is moving closer to hiring a new city manager.
Members of the City Council came together earlier tonight to interview former Peoria County Administrator Pat Urich for the position.
Mayor Jim Ardis has expressed serious interest in Urich for quite some time.
Peoria has been searching for a new city manager since Scott Moore stepped down in November.
Some council members would like to have a Peoria native fill the open position rather than hiring someone from outside the Peoria area.
"As I said to the Council, I have a family of Peorians and this is a great community to live in, and I would love to be their next City Manager," Urich.
Currently Patrick Urich is the only candidate that has been interviewed for the position.
