Following in the city of Peoria's footsteps, Peoria County has banned sex clubs too.

In a unanimous vote Thursday night, County Board Chairman Tom O'Neill says board members amended to their ordinance to ban live sex acts in licensed businesses.

The city passed an identical ordinance in July.

O'Neill says this closes a loop hole that would allow sex clubs, like the swingers club, Club 307, from moving out of Peoria and into unincorporated parts of the county.

It will go into effect immediately.
