A child-care center operator is about to become the newest member of Peoria's Distrct 150 School Board.

The School District appointed Lynne Costic to fill the seat vacated by recently elected Peoria County Board member Rachel Parker.
Costic was one of four applicants interviewed by the District in Wednesday's executive session.
Costic is the Owner and Executive Director at Myah's Just for Kids Learning Center in Peoria

"You have to have a passion for the children," says Costic. "You have to have a passion for the educational program, the education of children. That's what I have."

Costic will be appointed at Monday's board meeting and will serve the remainder of the term, which expires in June of next year.
