Police Bust Pot Plane In Fulton County

Canton police say a tip from US Customs led to the arrest of two men and the confiscation of 78 pounds of marijuana and an airplane.

46-year-old John Busche of Bend, Oregon was arrested after he landed a small plane at Canton's Ingersoll Airport.

78-pounds of marijuana was found in the plane.

While Busche was being arrested, a man in a cargo van attempted to leave the area..and he, 54-year-old Leon Hamilton of Dahinda, Illinois, was also taken into custody.

Busche was charged with Unlawful Cannabis Trafficking, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis (More than 5,000 grams), Unlawful Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver, and Conspiracy to Commit Offense in Possession of Cannabis.

Hamilton was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Offense in possession of Cannabis.

Both were charged in Fulton County.

Canton police say as a result of the May 27 arrests of Busche and Hamilton, police in North Carolina arrested a third person and seized more marijuana and a large amount of U.S. currency.
