PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. -- A police chase on Interstate-474 Tuesday morning ended in a crash and the arrest of a driver Police believe was driving under the influence.
Creve Coeur police tried to stop Randy Parvin, 34, of Trivoli for speeding just before 9 a.m.
Officers said the chase started in Tazewell County and ended in Peoria County.
Police said Parvin got off the interstate at Airport Road, turned on Plank Road, then Norwood Road and Jones Hollow, and that's where he lost control.
"We believe him to be under the influence. He's being transported to the hospital for precautionary measures. The driver was wanted, had a couple of warrants, one was not extraditable, but also he doesn't have a valid driver's license," said Creve Coeur Police Chief Pete Fisher.
Police said Parvin was taken into custody without further incident. He faces a variety of charges.
