Peoria city councilman Dan Irving was out on bond Friday night.
The 5th district councilman faces multiple charges of 'patronizing a prostitute', and authorities say more severe charges may follow, as they investigate whether Irving had sex with the woman before she turned 18.
Peoria County State's Attorney Kevin Lyons says 43 year-old Irving faces three counts of engaging in sexual activity with 18 year-old Jazzie Summers from Iowa- real name Amanda Garren.
Lyons says the acts occurred between March and the end of June.
During that time, he says Garren was 18.
"If there were more than the three occasions that I've charged so far, and if those occasions occurred before this period, then we're getting into an area of whether or not the female was 18 or whether she was 17," said Lyons.
We found this and other images of Garren in her ad on backpage.com, where she's listed as 18.
Each of the three current felony charges of 'patronizing a prostitute' carries a sentence of probation to three years in prison.
If convicted Irving will also be removed from the Peoria city council.
In an exclusive interview Friday, Irving's wife, Amy Irving told us...
"It's devastating news. I pray that God will provide me with grace to cope with this. I'm requesting prayers for my children. They're doing great and I hope for swift healing for all involved from this day forward."
