Many veterans returning home from war are having a hard time getting use to civilian life especially those suffering with post traumatic stress disorder.
A recently formed support group Purple Star is providing assistance to soldiers and their families and you can also help them out.
Saturday evening the organization will hold its first fund raiser at the Ashland House in Morton.

"We're gonna have a silent auction, a raffle, food, Colonel Tom Purple will be here from Chicago. This will be his last engagement before he leaves to go into Afghanistan," said support group member Theresa McCabe,

"Purple Star veterans and family members is an incredible, vitally important organization to really fill the gap that's needed when veterans return home," said Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran Adam McCabe.

The Purple Star fundraiser will start at four o'clock Saturday afternoon and continues until 10.
All proceeds will go towards the support group.
