The LaSalle County Sheriff say the body of Tanya Shannon was found about a mile Southeast from the scene of the crash.

Tanya Shannon disappeared after the crash that killed her husband. In early December, police say the two were driving home from a holiday party when their car went off the road and hit a power pole.

Dale Shannon died at the scene. Toxicology results indicated he was legally drunk.

At the time, Tanya was no where to be found, even though Police saw footprints in the snow and a slipper.

Police suspended their search because of the weather--and just resumed it Monday, following the snow melt. Tanya Shannon's body was first spotted by the News 2 helicopter out of Chicago. News helicopters were in the area waiting for the search to resume.

Shannon's was found barefoot and an autopsy on her body is pending.

The Shannon's have four children - ages 4 to 15 - who are in the custody of family.
