Peoria police were dispatched to the 2000 block of N. Lehman Rd. Thursday evening on the call that a male and female had been shot.

When authorities arrived on scene, they discovered 29-year-old Clinton Cayson, had been shot in the back and shoulder and 29-year-old Tamra Thomas had been shot in the right leg.

Both were conscious and alert upon police arrival.

He said the unknown suspects exited through the back door shortly after.

Police also discovered two pit bulls had been shot, one of which was found deceased.

PAWS was called in to take care of the animals.
