The Peoria Salvation Army staff is kicking off a busy holiday season.
Today they began filling out applications from families wanting to participate in the agency's Christmas programs.
Parents packed the Syliva Fites Family Service Center to get their names on the list for the Toy Shop, Red Stocking Parties, Food Baskets, Share the Spirit Program or Coates for Kids.

"We do have somewhat limited resources in some of the areas so we do encourage folks if they do want to participate in some of these programs that the sooner they come down probably the better, " said Salvation Army Spokesperson Rich Draeger.

Residents can go to the Sylvia Fites Family Center Monday through Friday afternoons between one and four to fill out an application for any of the programs.
