PEORIA, Ill. -- A Peoria family is looking for answers after six people were tied up for hours while their house ransacked over the weekend.
Peoria Police were called to the 6400 block of North Devonshire Drive around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
One homeowner, who was not home at the time, said her husband, their four children and a neighbor child were all tied up at gunpoint.
She said two men wearing masks and gloves took TVs, laptops, jewelry and other items over the course of several hours.
The men then stole the family's car. Police said they found the vehicle abandoned on Sunday.
A nearby neighbor said there was a shooting several years ago on the street, but still feels good about the neighborhood.
"I deem this area to be a very safe neighborhood, I've been here for over 30 years and we have never had this kind of incident in our neighborhood," said neighbor Juanita Taylor.
Police say they have no suspects at this time.
Anyone with information is urged to call Crimestoppers at 673-9000.
