Peoria's Charter school is accepting applications for the next school year.

The Quest Charter Academy is also touting its achievements over its inaugural year. Officials say in the past seven months, students have been to Chicago, St. Louis, and Cleveland. And have an upcoming trip to Turkey.

Next year, Quest will add 8th grade to its grades serviced.

"You don't become a successful school right away, but one of the things we brought over here to the school was experience...the educational plan we brought to Peoria is not something we implemented for the first time. The concepts schools network--we were implementing this education plan in 20 different schools," Engin Blackstone, Principal.

Principal Blackstone says Quest Charter Academy is able to accommodate 75 students for the new 5th grade class. Applications will follow a public lottery process.

There are also six openings in the 6th grade and 8th grade levels.
