State Senator Dave Koehler says he's taking a close look at the reconfigured 17th Congressional District.

But he stops short of making a commitment to run for the seat now held by Republican Bobby Schilling of Moline.

Koehler's 46th Senate District is now included in the new map of the 17th.

Springfield, Decatur and the Republican stronghold of Quincy were removed from the previous boundaries, parts of Peoria and Rockford were added in.

Koehler says a new district comes around only once ever ten years and is something to look at.
