Wanda Mae (Feeser) Balzell
PEORIA--Wanda Mae (Feeser) Balzell, 78, of Peoria, died at 2:05 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 at Proctor Hospital.
She was born Apr. 13, 1932 in Monica, IL., to Walter and Amy (Huber) Feeser, the second of five children. She married Calvin Balzell, on Dec. 9, 1951 in Tomah, WI.
She was a 1950 graduate of Woodruff High School and worked for 28 years at Caterpillar. She was also a long-time member of the Peoria First Church of the Brethren.
Wanda enjoyed singing in her church choir, spending time outside gardening, playing the piano, painting, cooking, and taking care of her family.
Surviving are her husband, Calvin, of Peoria; four children: Vicki (Leonard) Matheny of Dunlap, Steve Balzell of Peoria, Greg (Shelli) Balzell of Metamora, and Ann Respress of Peoria; seven grandchildren: Tara, Jeremy, Ryan, Wendy, Chantel, Justin, Gabrielle; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Audrey (Delmar) Sutton, Edna McMullen, Mary (Jim) Englebrecht, and Walter (Tammy) Feeser, Jr.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2011 at The Wilton Mortuary. Pastor Dana McNeil will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the mortuary. Committal services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011 at Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Peoria First Church of the Brethren or the Alzheimer's Association.
