Lois Elbert Nance, 82, ofForrest,IL, passed away at 12:17 am on Sunday June 17, 2012 at Fairview Haven Nursing Home inFairbury,IL.

Lois was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Forrest, IL where funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Rev. Corrine Blissard will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Forrest and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Burial will follow services at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in rural Wing, IL.

Memorials may be made to theSt. Paul’sLutheranChurch, Fairview Haven Nursing Home, or OSF Hospice.

Lois was born on March 8, 1930 in ruralForrest,IL, a daughter of Lester and Myrtle (Shockey) Elbert. She married John Nance on November 29, 1947 in Fairbury.

Surviving is her husband of 64 years: John Nance of Forrest, IL; two daughters: Connie (Scott) Wait and Peggy (Jerry) Austman both of Forrest, IL; six grandchildren: Colette Wait, Michelle (Jodie Erwin) Wait, and Cory(Kristie) Wait all of Bloomington, IL; Mindy (Joe) Ondrla of Oak Park, Jeff (Kate) Austman of Forrest, IL, and Gina (Gary) Hecht of Waunakee, WI; eleven great grandchildren: Ian, Adie, Luke, Lillian Wait; Hannah, Natalie, and Jack Austman; Josie and Ryan Hecht; Rosie and Brooks Ondrla; one sister: Janet Weakman of Forrest, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Rosie Maurer.

Lois was a devoted woman raising her children and helping on the family farm. She enjoyed crafting, quilting, and genealogy. She attended the Forrest schools and still enjoyed getting together with her “Eskimo” friends.

Lois and her husband were “snow birds” and have wintered in southFloridafor over 40 years. They have cherished their time with theFlorida“family”.

She was a lifelong resident of Forrest. Lois moved to Fairview Haven in the spring, and was appreciative of all the wonderful care that she received there, in addition to the care from OSF Hospice in the final days.

Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be greatly missed.
