Lila “Jean” Hughes, 82, of Peoria, passed away at 3:13 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center.
She was born November 22, 1929 in Decatur, IL to Clifford and Rita (Wilson) Cearlock. She married Talmage “Tom” Hughes on November 24, 1946 in Moweaqua, IL. He died January 28, 2005 in Peoria.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, Shirley, and 1 great-grandson, Dylan.
Surviving are her children, Mary (Steve) Levi of Peoria, Mike (Gay) Hughes of Washington, Deb Rubeo of Metamora, Tom Hughes of Peoria; 1 brother P.J. (Betty) Cearlock of FL; 1 sister Mildred Anderson of Mesa, AZ; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
After raising her family, Jean retired as a pharmacist assistant. She worked many years for World Drug and Barnatto Pharmacy in Peoria.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She touched the lives of many and will be missed dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the chapel. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
