Glasford-Betty L. Wheeler, 73, of rural Glasford, entered God’s eternal Kingdom on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Graham Hospital in Canton.
Betty was born on September 21, 1938 in Elmwood to Milo and Vera Mae (Oldfield) Harkness. She married Charles R. “Dick” Wheeler on February 7, 1955 in Okalona, MIssisippi.
They were a blessing to their five children, Michael W. (Debbie) Wheeler of Canton, Randy L. Wheeler of Canton, Carol Ann Stufflebeam of Hennepin, Richard Allen Wheeler of Odesa, Texas, and Rodney E. Wheeler of Odesa, Texas. Also surviving are two brothers, Richard Harkness of Canton and Ronald Harkness of London Mills; and one sister, Kay Hogue of Canton. She enjoyed her thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two great-grandsons, Bryce and Issac Bentzinger.
She worked for Graham Hospital for 30 years, and was a member of White Chapel United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 25, 2012 at White Chapel United Methodist Church in rural Glasford, with Rev. Jim Reed officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. Burial will be at Brunswick Cemetery in Rural Glasford.
Memorials may be made to the White Chapel United Methodist Church or to the Fulton County Humane Society.
