William Mitchell “Bill” Cunningham, 80, of Streator, died Friday morning June 29, 2012 at his home.
Funeral services for Bill Cunningham will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday July 2, 2012 at the Elias Funeral Home in Streator. Rev. Fr. Dustin Schultz will officiate and also conduct graveside services at Riverview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Cunningham, Brian Hutchinson, Mitch Cunningham, Eric Muhlstadt, Jake Lahman, Kelli Muhlstadt, Brooke Hutchinson, Kimberly Cunningham and Kristina Cunningham.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Elias Funeral Home with a prayer service to be held at 3:30 p.m.
Bill was born June 2, 1932 in Streator, IL, he was the son of William and Frances (Faulkner) Cunningham. He married Nancy Piercy on September 1, 1951 at St. Anthony Church in Streator.
He is survived by his wife Nancy of Streator, children Jack (Mary Beth) Cunningham of Streator, Bill (Gloria) Cunningham of Cornell, LuAnn (Gary) Eustice of Normal, Richard (Julia) Cunningham of Streator. Grandchildren Robert Cunningham of Portland, OR, Jody (Scott) Jacobs of Manville, Ryan (Jamie) Cunningham of Streator, W. Mitch )Anne) Cunningham of Streator, Kelli (Eric) Muhlstadt of Manville, Brooke (Brian) Hutchinson of Naperville, Kimberly (Jake Lahman) Cunningham of Streator and Kristina Cunningham of Streator. Also surviving are 14 great-grandchildren, 8 step-great-grandchildren, his sister Gerlain “Toots” (Ray) Decker, brother Glenn (Melva) Cunningham, brother-in-law Clarence Shaw and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Joyce Shaw, Nancy Szobar and Mary Jane Loy.
Bill owned and operated C&O (Cunningham & Ondrey) Construction for several years and then Bill Cunningham, General Contractor and was a member of the Carpenters Union since 1951.
He was a former member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Streator where he served as a usher for many years. Bill loved his family and grandchildren and was a avid deer hunter.
