Lillian Edith Koch, 92, of Tremont, passed away at 4:15am Saturday, July 21, 2012 at her home.
She was born April 16, 1920, in rural East Peoria to Adolph and Edith Lindenfelser. She married Keith E. Koch on August 17, 1946, in East Peoria, and he survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Ellen Becker of Pekin, Timothy (Vera) Koch of Tremont; 5 grandchildren: Margaret Arnett of Atlanta, GA, David (Staci) Becker of Cedar Falls, IA, Michael Koch of Houston, TX, Jonathan Koch of Boston MA, Stephen Koch of Tremont; 3 great-grandchildren: Christian , Anna, and Carson Becker, all of Cedar Falls, IA, 2 sisters, Mary (Earl) Brown of Morton and Alma Steffen of Washington, Il; one brother, Earl (Evelyn ) Lindenfelser of Armington; her brothers in law, Stuart (Jean) McKneight of Pekin and Larry (Shirley) Koch of East Peoria.
Preceding her in death were an infant son, Stephen Koch; 3 brothers, Leonard, Lloyd, and Arthur; 3 sisters; Esther Miller, Velma LaCost, and Ulla McKneight; sisters in law; Imogene Lindenfelser and Shirley Tiffan; and brothers in law: Clinton Koch and Ed Steffen.
Lillian was a homemaker and was an active volunteer in several organizations including of the Mt. Hope Cemetery Board, Home/Community Extension, and Tremont Historical Society.
She loved children and taught Sunday school and Toddler Story Hour for many years.
She enjoyed simple things in life: her family, a good conversation, a good book, travel, and blessed many meals with her homemade pies.
She was a member of Northfield Christian Fellowship in Tremont, where her funeral will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Roger Stuber will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, July 24, also at the church. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont. Davis Mortuary in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
