PEKIN ~ Ross E. Keller, 97, of Pekin, passed away at 8:35 a.m. Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Pekin Manor.
Born October 11, 1915 in Athol, South Dakota to Samuel Arthur and Myrtle Viola (Paxton) Keller, he married Josephine A. “Josie” Mularoni on November 24, 1938 in Pekin. She died August 9, 1994 in Pekin. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one step-daughter, Mary Hubert Randour; one step-grandson; four brothers; and one sister.
Surviving are two step-sons, Ferdinand Hubert of Pekin and Dick (Christy) Parr of Delavan; two step-daughters, Kathy (Rick) Manz and Bonnie Thompson, both of Pekin; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jessie (Robert) Jackson of Beloit, Wisconsin.
Ross worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 33 years, retiring November 1, 1975 as a tool maker in new tool installation in East Peoria.
He was a member of Saint Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin. He was a former member of Chapter #119 Illinois Central Ramblers Holiday Rambler RV Club and the Pekin Boat Club.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 23, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. The Rev. Dwight E. Borden will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
