She was born June 24, 1925, in Canton the daughter of Guy and Pearl (Rakestraw) Haughawout. Betty and J.C. Davis were united in marriage at South Park Methodist Church on November 25, 1945 in a double ceremony with her sister, Shirley.
J.C. died on June 5, 1998. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one daughter, Renee Davis; one brother, Clarence Lyle Haughawout; and three sisters, Lenora Bush, Virginia Sepich, and Lenore Scalf.
Surviving are her son, Tim Davis (Dianne Farrow) of Havana and one sister, Shirley (Fred) Mulligan of Canton.
Betty was a homemaker and in her younger years was a dance instructor in Canton.
She was a member of Shields Chapel United Methodist Church, Canton.
Betty was an antique collector with a special interest in vintage clothing. She always looked forward to the Spoon River Scenic Drive. She enjoyed reading old western books such as books by author, Louis L’Amour.
Services will be Monday, November 26th at 2:00 pm at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home, Canton with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Rick Atchley will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Canton.
