Lou was born on August 27, 1937 in Peoria, Illinois to Luvonion Sr. and Mildred “Cecil” (Hamilton) Kyle. Lou married Josephine Crowder on March 15, 1959 in Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Earl Kyle.
Lou is survived by his wife of 53 years, Josephine; his three daughters, Eugenia Kyle and Stephanie Kyle of Peoria, and Monica Taylor of Aurora; four grandchildren, Tatum and Kevin Kyle of Peoria, Jessica and Kayla Taylor of Aurora and three great grandchildren; two sisters, Janet Wyatt of Rockford and Virginia Owens of Peoria; brother James (Laura) Thompson and several nieces, nephews, cousins and family.
Lou graduated from Peoria High School in 1956. He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in 1990 after thirty three years of service.
He had a love for baseball, bowling and was an avid golfer, as well as member of Progressive Golf Club.
Lou was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church for many years where funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday, December 13, 2012 with a visitation one hour prior beginning at 10 am. Pastor Deveraux Hubbard will officiate. Lou will be entombed at Parkview Mausoleum. Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at simonsmortuary.com website.
