Mildred Marie "Millie" Busker, 89, of Peoria, formerly of Bartonville, died Wednesday evening January 2, 2013 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria. She was born on April 18, 1923 in Limestone Township, Illinois. She was the daughter of Claus J. and Grace (Miller) Bruninga. She married Wilbur H. Busker on November 20, 1948 in Bartonville, Illinois. He survives.
She is also survived by two daughters, Cheri (Michael) Garman of Bartonville, Illinois and Patti (Reggie) Weller of East Peoria, Illinois. Millie has five Grandchildren, Stacy (Chris) Tellor of Germantown Hills, Illinois, Scott (Sarah) Garman of Glen Carbon, Illinois, Karie Weller of San Diego, California, Lisa (Jeremy) Cook of Morton, Illinois and Jeremy Weller of East Peoria, Illinois. She has seven great grandchildren, Hannah and Ryan Tellor, Alayna, Lucas and Logan Garman, Reid and Alexis Cook. There are many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Lammert and Walter Bruninga, and two sisters, Minnie Backer and Eleanor Doubet.
Millie worked at the K.L. Burgett Company in Peoria for several years and later at the Jim Noonan Company as a supervisor in Peoria Heights. She was a member of the Bartonville American Legion Post 979 Auxillary. She attended in earlier years St. John Lutheran Church in Bartonville, and was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Bartonville. She was in many organizations within Bethel Lutheran Church over the years, and lastly was a member of the Lydia Circle and the LWR Knotters. Millie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed by all. A special Thank You to the 3rd floor Skilled Care Staff at Proctor Hospital and to Vitas Hospice, you are truly angels on earth.
Funeral Services will be Monday, January 7, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Bartonville. The Rev. Dr. Philip Lund will officiate. A visitation will be from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at the Church on Monday. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel.
