Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M. Saturday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Visitation will be from 1-3 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Matt, Ryan and Aaron Ingold, Luke and Travis Dietman and a nephew, Jim Roux.
Born April 8, 1937 in Bloomington, he was the son of Charles and Genevieve (Murray) Ingold.
He is survived by daughters, Julie Dietman of Spring Valley, Linda Ingold of Streator and Kelsia (Brian) Phillips of Streator; Sons, Mark (Debbie) Ingold of Marseilles, Scott (Cindy) Ingold of Streator, Chris Ingold of LaSalle and Daren (Jodi) Ingold of Streator; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; and a sister, Jeanine (Joe) Connor of Grand Ridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister in infancy.
He attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School. He lived in Streator most of his lifetime.
Through the years Robert worked various odd jobs. He was a painter, laborer and worked for J&L Steel. He later worked for Thatcher’s Glass Manufacturing for 32 years until his retirement.
He was active coaching youth baseball for many years and volunteered for the Streator Civil Defense.
Robert loved his dogs and traveled extensively to many dog shows. He was a long time member of the American Kennel Club.
