Morton - Kenneth L. Carter, 73, of Morton, died at 9:15 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 25, 1939, in Forrest, Ill., to Raymond and Pearl (Wesselhoff) Carter. He married Patricia Turner on Feb. 20, 1981.
Surviving are his wife, Pat, of Morton; three sons, Randy (Linda) Carter of Manito, Ill., Scott (Crystal) Carter of Hanna City, Ill., Howard Davis of Stuart, Fla.; two daughters, Patty (Harold) Weber of Manito, Ill., Terri Davis of Longmont, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; and four siblings.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruth Carter Horner.
Ken worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Pekin, retiring after 30 years of service. He last worked for ProFab in Morton.
He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s fan.
Cremation has been accorded. There will be no services.
Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.
