Mary Lynn Johnson, 66, of Pekin, passed away at 2:54 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family and friends.
Born June 3, 1946 in Peru, Indiana to Karl and Athlene Mabel (Overman) King, she married Roy A. Johnson on June 5, 1966 in Peru, Indiana. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Mark (Cherie) Johnson of Alexandria, VA and Erik (Christine) Johnson of Glen Carbon; one daughter, Beth Ann (Joe) Fowler of Pekin; two granddaughters, Ella Johnson and Madalynn Fowler; and one sister, Bonnie (Scott) Bartosch of St. Augustine, FL. Mary Lynn was looking forward to the birth of her first grandson, Karl, which is expected later this month.
She had worked as a secretary for Sommer Brothers Seed Company for twelve years, retiring in 2002.
Mary Lynn was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin. She was a former member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Pekin, where she was a member of the Mary Martha Circle. She was a member of Chapter O.E. of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She also was a member of the Pekin Chapter of Altrusa International.
Mary Lynn enjoyed sewing and cross stitch as well as reading and traveling.
Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
