Calvin Glenn Loy, 87, of Peoria passed away at the Illinois Veteran Home in Quincy, IL at 12:10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013.
He was born Feb. 15, 1925 in Thayer, IA to Clyde Earl and Ruth Forrest (Glen) Loy. He married Betty Jo Wood on Oct. 31, 1953. She preceded him in death in 1977. He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Rodney, daughter, Regina; 3 brothers, Kenneth, Donald, Junior Dale; and sister, Margaret Alice.
Surviving are 4 daughters, Cindy Loy of TX, Glenda Loy of Peoria, Tina Loy of Dunlap, Connie Leavitt of CO; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; sister, Dorothy Buckingham; and 2 brothers, Raymond and Richard Loy.
Calvin was a United States Navy Korean War Veteran. He worked as a welder before retiring. He enjoyed farming, gardening, fishing and spending time with his friends and family.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Graveside services with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Long Point Cemetery, Long Point, IL.
