Juanita Ann Ward, 78 of Normal, IL passed away at 1:44A.M. Easter Sunday, March 31st, 2013, at home with her loving husband of 56 years at her side. Her funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 5, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church of Normal. Rev. Larry Gaylord will officiate. Visitation will be 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington IL.;Juanita was born May 12th, 1934 in Linn, Kansas to Lawrence Fred and Dora Mary Katheran Kriete Lohmeyer. She is survived by Robert Eugene Ward whom she married in Woodstock, Illinois on June 16th, 1956.;Also surviving are two sons, David (Diane) Ward of Downingtown, PA, Steven (Cheryl) Ward of St. Augustine, FL, and one daughter, Jane (Dr. John) Han of Bloomington, IL, six grandchildren, Alan (Devin) Ward of Baltimore, MD, Eric Ward, Gulph Mills, PA, Brian Ward, Scottsdale, AZ, Dana Ward of Boulder, CO, Jason and Ryan Han of Bloomington, IL, and one step grandson, Matthew (Annette) Byrne of McHenry, IL.;Juanita was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Gertrude Koppen.;The Lohmeyer family moved their farm from Kansas to Woodstock, IL in 1942 when Juanita was eight years old. Juanita graduated from Woodstock Community High School and after graduating worked for the McHenry County Farm Bureau. She and her husband, Bob, moved to Normal in 1959. She enjoyed being a stay at home mother and later worked at Bergner's and then Lucy's Draperies and was the office manager for her husband's architectural firm.;Juanita was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Normal. She enjoyed playing cards in two bridge clubs, gardening, walking the Constitution Trail, traveling and spending winters in Fort Myers Beach and Siesta Key, FL. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. They always brought a smile to her face.;Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Normal.
