PEORIA – William J. Gleason, 86, of Peoria, passed away at 5:30 p.m., Monday, May 20, 2013, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.;William was born on September 28, 1926, in Peoria to William M. and Ruth E. (Leitner) Gleason. He married Dorothy E. Donnelly on October 14, 1950, in Peoria. She preceded him in death on April 11, 2008.;He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.;He is survived by six children, Gerald Gleason of Norwalk, CT, Marian (Mike) Monas of Snohomish, WA, Sally (Les) Stone of Laura, IL, Michael (Jane) Gleason of East Peoria, Daniel (Sylvia) Gleason of Fremont, CA, and John Gleason of Mossville, four grandchildren, Jessica (David) Hull, Lucas Gleason, Kaitlin Gleason, and Joseph Gleason, and one great-granddaughter, Gretchen Hull.;William was a graduate of Spalding Institute and Bradley University. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He later worked as an accounting clerk for CILCO for 39 years, retiring in 1989 and missing only one day of work.;He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church.;Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 24, 2013, at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Msgr. Paul Showalter will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Wright & Salmon Mortuary with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:45 p.m. An additional visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the Mass at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded following the Mass.
