Dorothy J. Fitzpatrick, 88 of Pontiac, IL died on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 7:43 PM at her residence.;Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Pontiac, with Pastor James Rees officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the hour of service, Saturday at the church. Burial will be held at Camp Cemetery in rural Odell, IL. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Pontiac is handling the arrangements. Memorials in Dorothy’s name may be left to the Trinity Lutheran Church.;Dorothy was born on February 27, 1925 in Pontiac, IL a daughter of Ray and Hilda (Schroeder) Finkenbinder. She married Robert Fitzpatrick on November 8, 1952 in Joliet, IL. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2000.;She is survived by one son: Gary Fitzpatrick of Pontiac, IL, five grandchildren: Sam (Jody) Fitzpatrick, Matt (Kristen) Fitzpatrick, Brandon (Lindsey) Fitzpatrick, Rick (Melissa) Fitzpatrick Jr. and Brandi Fitzpatrick, ten great grandchildren and two daughter in laws: Sandy Highland of Pontiac, IL and Maggie McCoy of Moline, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son: Rick Fitzpatrick Sr. and three brothers: Glenn, Merle and Eldon Finkenbinder.;Mrs. Fitzpatrick graduated from Pontiac Township High School in 1942 and the Champaign Beauty School in 1943. She owned and operated a beauty salon for over 66 years. In 1946 she had worked at the TB Sanatorium as a nurse’s aid. During WWII she volunteered at the Dwight Veterans Hospital as a Red Cross Grey Lady and served lunch to the troop trains coming through Streator and at the USO in Rantoul. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Pontiac, where she sang for many years in the choir. She was a past president and life member of the VFW 886 Auxiliary, a former member of the Zonta International, a past president and life member of the 96th Infantry Division Auxiliary, a past Regent of the Women of the Moose and a former member of the Starved Rock Hairdressers Association.
